Romantic Things to do in Charleston

Charleston is a romantic city at any time of the year, but especially around Valentine’s Day. Treat your loved one to one of its many attractions.

1. Take a stroll downtown

Downtown Charleston is one of the most romantic cities in the country. Walk the historic streets, enjoying the views of the homes, churches, and other historic buildings. 2. Walk the waterfront

You’ll enjoy the comfortable temperature while seeing gorgeous historic homes, Rainbow Row, and stately waterfront mansions. 3. Have a picnic lunch at Battery Park

Take a minute to slow down and take in gorgeous views of Charleston Harbor and Fort Sumter. 4. Dine at a romantic restaurant

Charleston is full of charming, delicious, and unique restaurants. Enjoy a glass of wine, exceptional food, and each other’s company while you take a moment to sit down and unwind. 5. Relax on the beach

Grab a chair, sunglasses, and your relaxation mode as you head to Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, or Folly Beach 6. Visit a plantation

Plantations are a piece of our history, and sometimes even a piece of romantic movies. Boone Hall, for example, was featured in the movie The Notebook. 7. Visit the gardens

Also providing scenes in The Notebook, Cypress Gardens provides a gorgeous opportunity to enjoy a butterfly and bird habitat greenhouse and see other exceptional flowers. 8. Take a carriage ride

What beats the romance of a horse-drawn carriage? Enjoy the history, information, and company as you explore the town within the romantic chariot. 9. Sail aboard the Schooner Pride

Enjoy the sights around the harbor, see a sunset, and maybe even catch a glimpse of dolphins as you enjoy a romantic time on the water. 10. Visit Pickett Street Bridge

Often visited by locals, check out the park and bridge remnants and see great views of Charleston harbor, the Ravenel Bridge, and Sullivan’s Island.
